Where the Land Ends

This image holds a story as beautiful as the scene itself. Captured during a late autumn evening in Cornwall with my wife, what began as a seemingly ordinary sunset became something extraordinary. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the conditions felt underwhelming—my wife was freezing, and I was ready to pack up my camera. But she insisted we stay, trusting what we’d learned from countless sunsets together: the magic often arrives in the afterglow, those fleeting moments just after the sun disappears. She was right. The sky transformed into a vivid, painted masterpiece—rich with color and light that no amount of planning could have predicted. While I captured it with my camera, she recorded a timelapse on her phone, both of us witnessing nature’s reward for patience.
